Julia Sweeney is performing at the Lakeshore Theater in "Meet the Maker," a one-night event March 8, and she'll be back March 27 for "The Jill and Julia Show," with singer-songwriter Jill Sobule.
Anyone who caught Sweeney's shows in 2007 knows she's has gone way past "SNL" and androgynous Pat—more into the realm of spirituality. Or the lack thereof. Her recent one-woman, autobiographical show "Letting Go of God" delved into such emotional, powerful stuff as living through cancer and leaving behind a life-long Catholic faith. The Showtime Network subsequently turned it into a movie; this live appearance is about the movie and "The Jill and Julia Show," which is planned as a monthly gig.
